untold unveils the past

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] connects all of them to create an endless movement.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.        .             ] is the first part and uses experimentation and improvisation.
UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.        .             ] starts as a soloist performance, a confession and progresses slowly into a collective incarnation about an untold conversation with a deceased love one. 

Once the audience has become the witness and the tipping point of the improvisation, everything derails. UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.        .             ] embodies the time to share grief with strangers. Sylvain Souklaye and the audience create a bound, an intimate understanding. Finally the group celebrates life with a beer as a tribe of a moment. Celebrating a story that has finally been told.

It was experimented and improvised in Grace Space Exhibition, New York at Ignition Festival.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented]

Politics and capitalism have designed us to become automated citizens, separate beings, racial and gender competitors, part-time migrants, failed social experiments, occasional extremists, behaviour supplies for GAFA, religious scarecrows but mostly the other from any type of outside, far away from our natural improvisation.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] is a solitary but collective performance about us, precisely about that moment within us.

This moment is about our selective, arbitrary surfaces and elementary, common entrails.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] desires to transform that moment inside all of us into a state.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] is an untold epiphany, an unfolded confession and an unprecedented collective interview hidden inside an intimate and visceral performance.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] is one movement and breath leading to a disincarnate state of being for one, for all.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] is made of space and people where distance and proximity are the alphabet.

From the untold to the unfolded until the unprecedented, a dialogued-dance between skins and entrails will offer to the audience and the performer a time to be, together.

During that moment, performer Sylvain Souklaye will have to free himself from his blackness, Frenchness, manliness and humanity to pursue his state of being where his intimacy lies and then will reach the one within each member of the audience.

With UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] Sylvain Souklaye invites the audience to be a part of the primal, the visceral, the inside, you, now.

UNDERYOURSKINS [untold.unfolded.unprecedented] is a ritual.
Not a call to action but an intention without reason where self-designation can't be categorised, articulated and exploited.
